As expected, voter turnout in Tampa is lagging

More than half way through Election Day in Tampa voter turnout was abysmally low, as expected. By 1:30 Tuesday only 2,791 voters had cast a ballot at their precinct. The Election Day turnout so far brings the total voting to just fewer than 22,000 ballots cast. Of those, 16,545 were cast by mail and 2,592 during early voting. Voter turnout so far is at just 10.38 percent and is on track to be less than 12 percent. That would make…

Collier County businessmann Byron Donalds has filed to run for a Southwest Florida House seat, according to the Florida Division of Elections. The District 80 seat eyed by Donalds is set to be vacated by House Speaker Pro Tempore Matt Hudson, who faces term limits in 2016. Uber launches Momentum, a new print magazine for drivers

Valued at $41 billion, transportation technology firm Uber is taking the big next step in ridesharing by going backwards, more or less, with a print magazine. Momentum is the new publication designed specifically for the nearly 150,000 Uber drivers.
