Charlie Crist to appear at FPA candidate forum July 10

Charlie Crist moved a little closer to a pre-primary forum with his Republican opponent, incumbent Gov. Rick Scott — that is if Scott accepts the challenge.

On Wednesday, the former governor and current Democratic candidate announced he agreed to appear at a gubernatorial forum hosted by the Florida Press Association and the Florida Society of News Editors. The event will be part of the 2014 FPA/FSNE Annual Convention, to be held July 10-11.

The forum is scheduled for Thursday, July 10 beginning 2:30 p.m. at The Biltmore, 1200 Anastasia Avenue.

So far, the time and date are for Crist and Scott only, with no other candidates, including Crist’s rival for the Democratic nomination, former state Sen. Nan Rich. Scott has not yet accepted the invitation.

Although a moderator has not been announced, traditionally the Associated Press handled that role.
