Charlie Crist funnels big money to state Democratic Party

Democratic candidate Charlie Crist, as well as his closely aligned political committee, took in a combined $98,000 in the week between July 5 and July 11, as well as giving large amounts of money to the Florida Democratic Party, according to the most recent campaign finance reports.

“Charlie Crist for Florida” gave $400,000 to the FDP on July 8. In June, the committee sent another $400,000.

During the same period, Crist’s leading Democratic primary opponent, former state Senate Minority Leader Nan Rich added another $5,175 to her campaign account, giving her a total of $408,704. “Citizens for a Progressive Florida,” the committee supporting Rich, also received $25,000 in the seven-day period, for a total of $140,315.
