This afternoon, Charlie Crist officially began his campaign to return as Florida’s governor.
As the weeklong candidate-qualifying period began noon Monday, the former Republican governor submitted his qualifying papers at 1:30 p.m. to the Florida Department of State to begin officially his race for his old job, this time as a Democrat.
Ceremonially delivering Crist’s papers to the Florida Division of Elections at 500 South Bronough St. in Tallahassee was Leon County language arts teacher Sheria Griffin, a graduate of Florida A&M University.
Candidates for state and county office must submit final paperwork and pay filing fees and to get on the 2014 ballot, beginning noon today through noon Friday, June 20.
