Charlie Justice’s garish new mailpiece

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

If you thought Mitch Kates’ direct mail for Scott Wagman was some of the worst-designed birdcage liner you have ever read, wait until you see the pulp he’s pumping out for Charlie Justice, who certainly deserves better.  Take a look at the latest direct mail-piece sent out by Charlie Justice’s campaign and tell me you don’t feel sorry for the guy.  He’s about as nice a guy as there is in politics, but his campaign has been mishandled from the start (I still don’t understand the silhouette logo).  I mean, this is a Congressional Campaign, yet this mailer looks like it was designed in Microsoft Publisher: a garish contrast of black and blue on the front, poor type-setting on the back, random photos of a young girl on both sides.  And then there’s the Costanza logo.

Normally, I’d give this mail-piece a C+, but since it is for a congressional race, where the stakes are higher, I award it a C-.
