House District 67 GOP hopeful Chris Latvala continues his fundraising dominance by posting another $3,180 in May, according to reports from the Florida Division of Elections.
The Largo Republican, son of state Sen. Jack Latvala, reached $165,640 in his effort to succeed term-limited GOP State Rep. Ed Hooper to represent northeast Pinellas County. For three years, Chris Latvala served as Hooper’s legislative aide.
Last month, Latvala paid $11,057 in expenditures, leaving him with nearly $118,000 cash on hand.
Latvala’s chief Democratic opponent, activist Shawna Vercher, raised $2,635 in May, bringing her total to $14,420. The author, public speaker and radio talk show host, spent $3,847 last month, giving her just over $7,800 on hand.
Two active GOP opponents remain in the race: Christopher Shepard, who did not have any donation last month, and Frederick Thompson again filed only waivers of report, according to DOE figures.
