Chris Latvala keeps momentum going with $162K raised for HD 67 race

House District 67 GOP hopeful Chris Latvala is maintaining his strong fundraising momentum, posting another $6,300 in April, according to filings with the Florida Division of Elections.

The Largo Republican is now at $162,460 overall in his effort to succeed term-limited GOP State Rep. Ed Hooper for the seat covering northeast Pinellas County. For three years, Latvala served as Hooper’s legislative aide.

Latvala spent $11,032 last month in expenditures, giving him nearly $126,000 cash on hand.

Latvala’s two active GOP opponents have neither his fundraising strength nor proficiency, according to DOE figures; Christopher Shepard raised just $300 last month, and Frederick Thompson again filed only waivers of report.
