Add another prominent name to the groundswell of GOP support for Chris Latvala, as he looks to replace Rep. Ed Hooper in House District 67.

Seminole state Rep. Larry Ahern announced his endorsement of Latvala, who is running for the neighboring Clearwater-Largo seat.

“I am happy to endorse my friend and fellow conservative for the Florida House,” Ahern said in a statement declaring his support. “He is an active member of our community and has been involved in our party for years as a volunteer, activist, and former Young Republican President.”

A native of Pinellas County and member of Lakeside Community Chapel, Latvala graduated UCF in 2004 as a history major. From 2006-2009, he served as a Legislative aide for Representative Ed Hooper. Currently, Latvala is Vice President of GCI Printing Services, Inc. in Largo.

Both Hooper and Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri have recently endorsed Latvala.

“Representative Ahern is a great Republican leader in our community,” Latvala said. “I am honored to have his support and friendship. I look forward to working with him in Tallahassee as we tackle issues that impact Pinellas County and the state of Florida.”
