House District 67 GOP hopeful Chris Latvala continues his fundraising dominance by posting another $1,000 from June 21 to July 4, according the latest filings with the Florida Division of Elections.
The Largo Republican reached $173,265 in his effort to succeed term-limited GOP State Rep. Ed Hooper to represent northeast Pinellas County. For three years, Latvala worked as Hooper’s legislative aide.
At the same time, Latvala received in-kind donations of more than $4,800 and spent $5,338 in expenditures, for nearly $113,000 cash on hand.
Latvala’s chief Democratic opponent, activist Shawna Vercher, raised $2,915 for the two-week period, bringing her total to $19,740. The author, public speaker and radio talk show host, also spent $1,151, giving her just over $4,600 on hand.
Other Democrats include Steve Sarnoff, who raised $2,655 in the reporting period for a total of $11,312 and has $4,200 on hand; Thomas Ryan had no donations, according to DOE figures.
One active GOP opponent remains in the race: Christopher Shepard, who also did not report any donations.
