Chris Sprowls continues his powerhouse fundraising efforts by adding more than $32,000 during the third quarter reporting period for his campaign for House District 65.
In his drive to unseat incumbent Democrat Rep. Carl “Z” Zimmermann for the north Pinellas County seat, Sprowls is demonstrating strong community support since more than half his donations are from the Tampa Bay area.
According to his campaign, Sprowls collected $32,031.67 for a total of $78,754 cash on hand so far in his campaign. More than 40 percent of donations come from Pinellas, with over 60 percent from the Tampa Bay area.
“To receive such tremendous support from my friends, colleagues and neighbors in Pinellas County is very humbling,” the Tarpon springs Republican said in a statement. “I think it demonstrates that people in Pinellas share a vision of a government that continues to grow our economy, protects the interests of hard working Floridians, and serves the best interests of our community, not Tallahassee.
“I remain grateful, humbled, and focused on winning this seat and building a better Florida,” he continued.
Sprowls is currently a Special Prosecutor in the Gang Unit in the Sixth Circuit State Attorney’s Office serving both Pinellas and Pasco Counties, as well as Director of the newly formed Veterans Treatment Court.
During his time at Stetson Law School, Sprowls served in the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association. There, he served as National Chairman and chief spokesperson of the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association, representing nearly 60,000 law students. He was also instrumental in founding the Stetson’s Veterans Law Clinic.
A community leader and cancer survivor, Sprowls also served as coordinator for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
