State Rep. Larry Ahern, who frequently meets constituents for coffee and a chat, has scheduled his next coffee klatsch for Election Day.
His latest invitation reads: “I will be at Emily’s Family Restaurant Downtown in Clearwater. I invite you to stop by between 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. to converse with me about current events, concerns with our state government, or any topic you’d like to discuss. Please take a look at your calendar to see if you can join me for a cup of coffee or breakfast. I hope you can make it.”
Emily’s is at 101 S Garden Ave.

Ahern, a Republican, has represented House District 66 since 2012. He’s facing a challenge in the Nov. 8 general election from Democrat Lorena Grizzle. Grizzle, a teacher, ran against him unsuccessfully in 2014. Grizzle is the daughter of Mary Grizzle who was the first woman ever elected to the Florida House of Representatives.
HD 66 covers a portion of western Pinellas that includes Bellair, Belleair Beach, Belleair Bluffs, Belleair Shores, Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores and parts of Clearwater, Largo and the unincorporated Seminole area.
