With more than 11,000 votes casts in the first three rounds, TallyMadness — an online voting competition to determine Florida’s “best” lobbyist — is now down to the Elite Eight.
The final eight lobbyists vying to be the Champion of TallyMadness are: Steve Madden, Chris Dudley, Jim Magill, David Rancourt, Barney Bishop, Gus Corbella, Marty Fiorentino and Chris Flack.
#16 seed Madden continued his improbable, some now say unstoppable, run by knocking off young gun Nick Iarossi. #2 seed Chris Dudley committed political fratricide by defeating his brother Charley.
In Quad 2, local legend Jim Magill held off powerhous Ron LaFace, while #2 seed David Rancourt beat #3 seed Jim Smith.
Quad 3 continues to be the most interesting, with “underdog” Barney Bishop upsetting Will McKinley and Tally fave Gus Corbella surprised Fred Leonhardt.
#15 seed Chris Flack upset another opponent and will face off against Marty Fiorentino, who seems to be flying under the radar on his way to the Final Four.
Voting to determine who will be part of the first Final Four of TallyMadness ends at midnight on Friday, April 1.
