Representatives Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Mario Diaz-Balart, David Rivera and former Representative Lincoln Diaz-Balart endorsed Connie Mack’s campaign for the U.S. Senate at a press conference this morning at Chico’s Restaurant in Hialeah.

Mack, whom most recent public polls show is in a statistical dead heat with Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL), also announced that Jorge L. Arrizurieta will serve as Senior Adviser for the campaign.

“I am truly honored to have earned the trust and support of Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Mario Diaz-Balart, David Rivera and Lincoln Diaz-Balart. I’ve had the honor of working by each of their sides in Washington. Florida is a better place because of their dedication to the people whom they represent and fight for every day,” Mack said. “With their help, we will defeat liberal Senator Bill Nelson in November, we will restore the America we know and love, and we will renew our nation’s commitment to freedom, security and prosperity for all Americans.”

“I have worked with Connie on many issues that are important to Florida. His commitment to lower taxes, less government regulations, and policies that help our small businesses are what is needed in Florida’s next U.S. Senator.  Connie’s strong human rights and freedom policies have been a key aspect of his public life and he has shown it time and time again as chair of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere. I am proud to endorse him and I look forward to campaigning on his behalf,” said Representative Ros-Lehtinen.

“I am proud to announce my support for Connie Mack because he is the candidate best suited to represent Floridians in the Senate and help turn our country around,” said Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart.  “During his Congressional tenure, Connie has fought to cut spending and bring jobs to Florida, exactly what the country needs right now.  He also has a keen understanding of the dangers our enemies pose to the United States, especially in Latin America, and is a longtime fighter for freedom and democracy.”

“I have had the pleasure of knowing the Mack family for more than 20 years since I worked with Senator Mack in Washington.  Today, Connie Mack continues the proud Mack family tradition of serving the people of Florida.  Connie’s Southwest Florida district has been well represented in the House for the last seven years where he has established a record of conservative principles and strong foreign policy.  That is why I am supporting Connie Mack in his bid for the United States Senate, because I believe he is the best choice to stand for the people of Florida,” said Representative David Rivera.

“Connie Mack is a fighter for freedom who will be a great Senator for Florida,” said former Representative Diaz-Balart.  “I am proud to support him.”

During today’s press conference Mack also noted the important role that Jorge L. Arrizurieta has accepted with the campaign.

“Jorge has been a close family friend and confidant of my father’s and mine for many, many years. I’m honored that he has agreed to join my campaign as Senior Adviser, where he will play a pivotal role in helping my campaign across Florida.”

“I am honored to be working so closely with Connie as we run an aggressive campaign throughout the state,” said Arrizurieta. “Connie has assembled a top-notch team and key supporters from every corner of our great state. I look forward to doing all I can to help in the important effort to elect Connie as Florida’s next United States Senator.”
