The Pinellas County Chapter of the Florida Nurses Association will be hosting a public forum to discuss the healthcare reform legislation that Congress is presently considering. The discussion will focus on the impact of the proposed legislation on health care delivery, access to healthcare and nursing.
The forum will be a panel discussion, moderated by commentator Rob Lorei from WMNF radio. The panel will include Bill Newton of the American Consumer Council, Shawn Foster from the staff of Congressman Bilirakis, Dr. David McKalip – past President of the Florida Neurosurgical Society and Edward Briggs – President of the local Florida Nurses Association and member of the State Board of Directors of the Florida Nurses Association. They will address how the proposed healthcare legislation might change healthcare delivery and access to healthcare. At the end of the discussion audience will have the opportunity to pose questions to the panel through the moderator.
This event is open to the general public and is free. The event will be held on December 10th, 2009 from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Sunshine Center Multi Services Senior Center located at 330 5th St. N., Saint Petersburg.
