Political festivities will kick off in earnest one year from Saturday, August 27th in beautiful downtown Tampa – a shining city by the Bay.

Corporate and political leaders will gather and celebrate atop a glittering high-rise in the exclusive Tampa Club to mark this momentous occasion. “It’s possible that we’ll never see another Florida political event of this magnitude in our lifetimes,” said Travis Horn, a Tampa governmental relations executive. “We should make the most of the opportunity we’ve been given to showcase Tampa as both a corporate expansion and vacation destination,” Horn added.

Official economic development entities and renowned Republican fundraisers have done a tremendous job of landing the upcoming 2012 Convention, and Horn says, “We’re just letting them know the community is excited and on board. Turning the job market around and casting our city in a positive light is good for all of us, irrespective of party affiliation.”

Organizers believe this event will shine a spotlight on our free market economy and emphasis that reliance upon free enterprise will spur job creation and economic growth.

The word “Tampa” will be rolling off the lips of newscasters from Des Moines to Concorde and points in between from now until next August. This month’s Countdown event promises to celebrate American political History in the making. For a year, Tampa will be the epicenter of the political universe as Americans decide who will be elected to the most powerful office on Earth, and the clock starts ticking with this business focused celebration.

The excitement stretches beyond the confines of Tampa. North Florida political consultant, Matt Justice says, “My colleagues and associates from across the state are coming to Tampa in force to be a part of this unique corporate-political social event. We wouldn’t miss it.” Noting the significance of the upcoming presidential straw poll in Orlando, Justice added, “It’s noteworthy to consider how the agenda will begin to take shape here in Florida, between the Countdown this month, the straw poll next month, and the 2012 Convention.”

Several notable political leaders are confirmed, and more are expected to RSVP before the countdown starts ticking. In cooperation with the Tampa Club, organizers will create a perfect nexus between business and politics with live entertainment, gourmet foods, and potentially lucrative corporate networking opportunities.
