County Commission candidates are making rounds trying to scoop up last minute votes.
Republican Johnny Johnson is popping in and out of polling places in the north Pinellas district he hopes to represent.
The response, he says, has been very positive.
“A lot of the people I see are actually parents of patients or former patients and they’ve been telling other people about me,” Johnson said. “It’s been very positive.”
Johnson and his supporters are talking to voters as they hit the polls. He said some have questions, but most seem to have already made up their minds.
One of Johnson’s opponents in the primary, former State Representative Peter Nehr, is also hitting the polls.
“[I’m] feeling very confident that voters in my commission districts would rather vote for a conservative candidate who believes in lower taxes than those who want to add $100,000,000 in new taxes to their already high tax burden,” Nehr wrote in an email. “I predict victory.”
