The Senate Budget Committee on Wednesday approved a measure (SB 142) to insulate car manufacturers from liability in crash cases by reversing a 2001 court ruling, reports the News Service of Florida. The measure’s passage followed an unsuccessful attempt to exempt first responders killed in crashes in which defective products are deemed the cause of death.
