Facing a difficult gubernatorial campaign this year, Democrat Charlie Crist will appear at a luncheon Tuesday a few blocks from the Capitol.
Crist’s opponent, Gov. Rick Scott leads a Cabinet meeting prior to an appearance at the Old Capitol to greet sexual-abuse survivor Lauren Book on the last mile of her 1,500-mile walk across the state.
Crist, who became the Republican governor in 2006, but later left the party, is the featured speaker at the Capital Tiger Bay Club to be held at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.
Scott leads the Cabinet meeting beginning at 9 a.m., then moving to the rally celebrating Book’s arrival.
