In a statement released Thursday, state Sen. Dan Gelber suggested that the Florida House’s failure to send the controversial ultrasound bill (HB 1143) is an attempt to play political games with a very important issue.
“The Florida House should quit playing games and send the Ultrasound Bill to Governor Crist for his prompt review and hopeful veto. Ironically, the bill was rushed through the Legislature without warning or serious thought, and now it’s one of the last bills the House is holding on to. My concern is that it’s being used as trade-bait in the games that too often define Tallahassee. Floridians are tired of this kind of gamesmanship, especially on issues this important.”
