While Dan Gelber racks up endorsement after endorsement from Florida’s newspapers, Dave Aronberg announced that he has been endorsed by a another sheriff — his 17th.
And this one is historic.
Susan Benton of Highlands County was the first woman elected as a Florida Sheriff who was not previously appointed to the job. As a trailblazer, her endorsement means “a great deal to” Aronberg.
In her endorsement, Benton said:
“Dave Aronberg has the energy, the enthusiasm and the experience to be a great Attorney General. A former Assistant Attorney General himself, Dave will be ready to serve the people of our state on day one. That is why I am endorsing him.”
