When asked about getting in the race, Shulman said, “During my campaign for St. Petersburg City Council, I was exposed to the richness and diversity of St. Petersburg and south Pinellas County. I also saw firsthand the ideological divide that has pushed public policy to the extreme without adequate checks and balances. We need to restore stability to our government, we need to promote the concept of fairness and reaffirm our commitment to community.”
Shulman says South Pinellas has been well represented by Representative Rick Kriseman for the last six years. He says Krisseman’s decision to not seek re-election leaves a leadership void that he looks to fill.
“Representative Kriseman, has been a champion for the middle class, working Americans, and has tirelessly represented the interests of Pinellas County as well as those of the entire State of Florida.” said Shulman, “Today I stand ready to represent the people of Pinellas and Florida and ask for your support so that we can be prepared to focus on the challenges ahead while promoting security, opportunity, and freedom.”
