There are new polls out in two of Florida’s battleground congressional races, both with interesting results worth examining.
In the Val Demings vs. Dan Webster race, a mid-October poll commissioned by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee found that Democrat Val Demings is trailing U.S. Rep. Dan Webster by two percentage points — well within the poll’s five-point margin of error, reports Aaron DeSlatte of the Orlando Sentinel.
Webster’s camp is dismissing the poll.
“This outdated poll is nothing but a campaign gimmick to ease the anxieties of liberal donors who have poured over $4 million into a race that is no longer competitive. Releasing a DCCC-sponsored poll nearly two weeks after it was taken is at best political negligence and at worst partisan desperation,” said Kirsten Borman, a consultant to the Webster campaign.
Meanwhile, in CD 22, Democrat Lois Frankel is touting the results of an internal poll showing her with a ten-point lead over Republican Adam Hasner, 47% to 37%. Click here for a PDF copy of the polling memo from Anzalone Liszt Research.
