In his 2014 bid to become State Representative from District 30, Scott Sturgill picked up the endorsement of Blaise Trettis, Republican Public Defender for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit for Brevard and Seminole Counties.

Sturgill, also a Republican, is looking to challenge incumbent Democrat Karen Castor Dentel for the state House seat, which covers parts of Seminole and Orange Counties.

“Scott Sturgill is a dedicated Republican who lends his time and talents to support many groups and charities within our community, “Trettis said in a statement. “He is a husband, father and small business owner who understands the challenges that are impacting all Floridians. Scott will use his business skills to get the job done in Tallahassee.”

“Blaise Trettis is a dedicated public servant who has worked his way up the ranks at the public defender’s office,” Sturgill said. “His integrity and work ethic are beyond reproach.  His example is one I will try to follow as a State Legislator.”

Last year, Sturgill, CEO of Durable Safety Products, won election to the Seminole County Soil and Water Conservation District, Group 4. His conservative platform for the state House focuses on economic growth, limiting government spending, improving healthcare and running government with a “business mentality.”
