Donald Trump names state directors for Florida, Texas and Virginia

GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump boosted his campaign team on Friday with some new hires, including state directors in Florida, Texas and Virginia.

Karen Giorno, a former director of external affairs for Gov. Rick Scott, will now lead the Trump team in Florida. Giorno brings more than 25 years’ experience in public relations, communications, and advance presidential operations.

Corbin Casteel will also serve as campaign state director in Texas; Mike Rubino will head the effort in Virginia. Casteel previously served with the Republican National Committee and the Republican Party of Texas.  Rubino worked on 20 political campaigns in a variety of roles, helping to elect conservatives in nine different states. Recently, he was a staffer for Virginia U.S. Rep. Dave Brat.

The added staff comes after campaign hires last week in Georgia and Tennessee, and additional field personnel in Virginia. The Trump Campaign also set up shop in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada.

In a prepared statement, Trump said the new staffers are a continuation of his plan to have a strategic and significant presence nationwide.

“We are in this to win it,” he said. “I am pleased that my vision to Make America Great Again has generated so much support and such a positive response that we are leading in all the polls.

“By adding to our team in these critical states we will be able to build on the tremendous support we have received and share our message with even more voters in these states … I look forward to being in these states even more as I continue to share my ideas about how to put America back on top!”
