Jessica Ehrlich received a key union endorsement today from the American Postal Workers Union only hours after former state CFO Alex Sink grabbed headlines by saying she will also compete for Florida’s 13th Congressional District.
The APWU now becomes the seventh union supporting Ehrlich, which includes the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the Laborers’ International Union, the Brotherhood of Teamsters, the United Transportation Union, United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters and United Food & Commercial Workers.
“The Suncoast Area Local of the American Postal Workers Union voted unanimously to endorse Jessica Ehrlich for Congress in Florida’s 13th district,” said Suncoast Area President Don Delgman in a statement today. “We will be proud to support Jessica in her quest to provide solid solutions for the everyday problems of Floridians.”.
As the world’s largest postal union, the APWU represents more than 220,000 U.S. Postal Service employees and retirees, as well as nearly 2,000 mail workers in the private sector.
“Our postal workers are an important part of one of our greatest American institutions,” Ehrlich responded, “and I am proud to stand with them as we continue to fight for the hardworking men and women of Pinellas County. “
