Don’t know what this is worth now: State Senate candidate Wilton Simpson endorsed by Mike Haridopolos

Today, the Wilton Simpson for State Senate Campaign announced the endorsement of Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos. The endorsement comes a day after Simpson announced that former Florida Governor Bob Martinez and current Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi will be headlining his fundraiser at the end of this month.

“Wilton Simpson is a business leader who understands the challenges that Florida is facing, and I look forward to his leadership in Tallahassee,” said Senate President Haridopolos. “Simpson is the type of leader necessary to overcome the challenges of this recession.”

That’s all well and good, but I’m not sure of what Haridopolos’ endorsement brings at this point, other than it being a clear sign that Simpson is on the Haridopolos-John Thrasher, rather than Jack Latvala’s, in the intramural scrum for the Senate presidency in 2017-18.
