That’s the status update I expect to read next year on Senator Paula Dockery’s Facebook page because obviously the good Senator from Polk County likes to spill the beans.
On Friday, Dockery posted a picture pf Attorney General Pam Bondi playing flight attendant on her way to the Cayman Islands where Bondi escaped to celebrate her nuptials with Tampa ophthalmologist Greg Henderson. “The plane is filled with her wedding party,” Dockery’s post read.
I’m sure Bondi just looovvveeeddd having her elopement outed on Facebook by the State Senator from Imperial Polk County. (Update: Dockery tells me that Bondi gave her permission to take and share the picture.)
In fact, Bondi had to walk back her walk down the aisle, telling a reporter “We’re here with our closest friends and family, celebrating our upcoming nuptials.” … “Legally, officially we will be married back in the United States.”
After all, it wouldn’t look right if government official elected statewide left the state to get married. ‘Why didn’t she just get married in Florida?’ the critics would wonder, as if it were any of their business.
A source at the $400-a-night hotel, which advertises wedding packages in the $20,000-range, told gossip columnist Jose Lambiet that desk and reservation clerks were told to say Bondi was not registered as a guest, even if she was.
Anyone else get the feeling that the public would have known nothing about Bondi’s wedding, err, pre-wedding nuptials, if Dockery hadn’t Facebooked about it?
That’s why, if you’re planning any sort of surprise, let me offer this advice: Don’t tell Paula Dockery!
Otherwise you may read something like, “Can’t wait to hear what (fill in the blank ) says after (fill in the blank) pops the big question” on Dockery’s Facebook page.
