Drive to bring casino gambling in Lee County falls short

A proposal to allow resort casino gambling in Lee County has failed to receive enough petition signatures to appear on the November ballot, the News-Press reported Wednesday.

The proposal would have allowed resort casinos if the state approved expanded gambling. A resort-casino bill died this year in the Legislature, though it could come back in the future.
