Duke Energy files to increase pre-construction fees on nuke projects

in Uncategorized by

Last week, prior to the end of legislative session in which various proposals were considered to curb utilities from charging customers pre-construction fees on nuclear facilities, Duke Energy filed papers with the Public Service Commission to seek nearly $175 million next year from customers.  These charges would go toward funding a proposed Levy County nuclear plant as well as the recently closed Crystal River plant.

If the PSC consents, Duke customers would be paying just over one dollar more per month toward these projects.
