Early voting for the March 15 Presidential Preference Primary begins this Saturday and runs through March 13 in Pinellas County. Voting takes place at three Supervisor of Elections offices in St. Petersburgrsburg, Largo and Clearwater.

Voting is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Locations include the County building in St. Petersburg located across the street from City Hall at 501 First Ave. N.; in Clearwater at the County Courthouse at 315 Court St., Room 117; and in Largo at the Election Service Center at 13001 Starkey Road.

Voters can check wait times before heading to the polls to ensure an in and out experience.

Early voting is also open for participating municipal elections including Gulfport, Clearwater, Belleair, Indian Rocks Beach, Madeira Beach, Oldsmar, Pinellas Park, St. Pete Beach, South Pasadena, Tarpon Springs, and Treasure Island.

Several other municipalities were scheduled for the March 15 election but cancelled because no competitive races were required. Those include Belleair Beach, Bluffs and Shore, Indian Shores, Kenneth City, North Reddington Beach, Reddington Shores and Reddington Beach.

While all voters are eligible to vote in municipal elections taking place in the cities where they live, Florida is a closed primary state. That means voters must be registered as a Republican or Democrat to vote in their respective party’s primary for president.

Voters can still choose to vote by mail. A ballot can be requested at the Supervisor of Elections website or by calling 727-464-VOTE (8683.)
