The Economic Club of Florida is scheduled to host a program on economic development in Tallahassee, regarding projects that will represent millions of dollars of investment to the state’s capital city and surrounding areas.
Ed Murray, director, president and broker of NAI TALCOR will speak, along with Assistant City Manager Jay Townsend, and Matt Behnke, CPA, Associate Athletic Director for Business and CFO of the FSU Department of Athletics.
Murray is a 27-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry and is a consistent multi-million dollar producer. He oversees all operations of NAI TALCOR and its 55 employees and is involved in the management or leasing of over 4 million square feet of retail, office and industrial space in North Florida and South Georgia. He was recently featured in Florida Trend and is the Chair Elect of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.
Townsend oversees City of Tallahassee Public Works, Planning, Growth Management, StarMetro, Airport and economic development. He has played a landmark role in key development projects such as the Gaines Street revitalization and Cascades Park. He spent 11 years as an Infantry Officer in the US Army and held several management positions with Fortune 500 Companies.
Behnke is responsible for all athletics department business and financial matters, including budget oversight and financial reporting. He previously served as the CFO of Seminole Boosters and led efforts to finance the Albert J. Dunlap Indoor Training Center and the Student Housing Facility. He is an FSU alumni.
The presentation is set for noon on Thursday, July 25, at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center, A-3, at 505 W. Pensacola Street. The buffet line opens at 11:15 a.m. and the meeting adjourns at 1:00 p.m.
