Email Insights: GOP reaches back in time for the latest Alex Sink attack

In a pair of emails, the GOP eagerly pulls out its magical time machine for the latest attacks on Alex Sink.

This time, Vice President Joe Biden once again becomes a target for conservatives for his support of Sink in the race for Florida’s 13th Congressional District.

Biden was in Florida recently on a fundraising run for Florida’s former Democratic CFO.

Emails from the usual suspect — the National Republican Congressional Committee — joined by conservative activist group American Action Network blasted both Biden and Sink for the sheer audacity to raise money for her run for Congress.

The NRCC starts with its standard talking points by asking (rhetorically) if during the Coral Gables event, the two will “discuss President Obama’s signature domestic achievement.”

They also latched onto Biden’s whispered praise to Obama when the President signed the Affordable Care Act. Biden told Obama that enacting the ACA  was a “big f**kin’ deal.”

“Alex Sink and Joe Biden have a lot in common including their love for President Obama’s dysfunctional health care law which guts Medicare and is costing our country jobs,” said NRCC spokesperson Katie Prill. “It’s very clear that Alex Sink has already aligned herself with the most liberal Washington Democrats so it should be no surprise to Pinellas families that she will vote with the most liberal Democrats in Congress.”

The hits keep coming as American Action Network points out how Biden has “for years” given Sink the “cold shoulder.”

However, when Biden came down to “rescue” Florida back in 2010, Sink called his visit a “screw up.” She said she was embarrassed by the VP’s speech, something that Politico noted at the time.  The AAN also noted how Sink skipped a subsequent event in Hollywood featuring Biden.

Going back four years – a lifetime in politics — smells a little like they are grasping at straws.

AAN warns voters to “beware of Sink,” since “she only stands with those who help Alex Sink, when it’s convenient, of course.”

Talk about holding a grudge, people.
