U.S. Rep.-elect Gwen Graham issued an email statement in response to this morning’s shooting at Florida State University. Graham is a Democrat from the Tallahassee area.

“My heart goes out to all FSU students, families, and staff. All Floridians will be keeping the FSU community in our thoughts and prayers as we mourn this senseless tragedy,” Graham said.

“Today, our FSU family and all Floridians should take a moment to pray for the victims and their families for a full and speedy recovery. And we need to thank the FSU and Tallahassee Police Departments, whose officers acted so swiftly to stop the gunman before more innocent people were hurt.”

Myron May, an attorney and FSU alumnus, has been identified by The Associated Press as the gunman who shot three people at the FSU Strozier Library before being killed by police.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, a briefing from police and other local officials will be at 3 p.m. Thursday.
