Who wants to get lucky in Vegas?
Marco Rubio turns 44 next week, but one supporter will get the best gift: an invite to Rubio’s Las Vegas birthday celebration.
A new email blast gives everyone a chance to win the Vegas trip and event, hosted by Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame – with a donation of $5 or more, of course.
The winner will get round trip coach airfare to Vegas for the big birthday bash – which doubles as a GOP fundraiser — on Thursday, May 28.
Rubio’s presidential campaign will set them up in a hotel on the Strip. Later, they will have the opportunity to meet Rubio, Harrison and his wife Deanna, who are hosting the event at their home with Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison, chair of Rubio’s Nevada campaign.
The Florida senator has roots in Nevada, spending part of his childhood in Vegas. He is also a cousin of Nevada state Sen. Mo Denis, a Democrat.
He’s also one of several announced or potential presidential candidates to visit Nevada in May. Fellow Republicans Jeb Bush, Rick Santorum, Ben Carson, and Democrat Hillary Clinton each visited in the past month.
As for the contest, there is little time to wait, since it ends this Sunday, May 24. By law, no contribution or payment of any kind is required to enter or win the Rubio birthday promotion, nor does a contribution increase chances of winning.
But it sure wouldn’t hurt.
Ground transportation is not included, and must come out of pocket. But it would be a small price to pay to meet a big-time TV star – and possibly the next U.S. president.
