For Republican Party of Florida Chair Leslie Dougher, Election Day was only the beginning.
In an email to Florida Republicans, Dougher announced her re-election bid, amid the RPOF “gearing up for our next phase” in a push to keep it the “strongest state party in the nation.”
Republican determination and drive were on full display Nov. 4, Dougher says, which she credits as “true grassroots activism,” despite the doubts of pundits and insiders.
Dougher, always ambitious, vows to repeat those successes together in the challenge ahead — in 2016.
“Thank you all for making your commitment to me,” she says. “I too have a commitment to make. We are not going to stop pushing. We will not rest on our laurels.”
In the coming days and weeks, Dougher says she will detail her vision for the RPOF’s future.
It was a lack of vision that was just one of the top issues cited by most Democratic post-election wrap-ups as the factor in their Election Day drubbing.
Dougher – as part of the winning team – proves that a strong vision is vital to winning elections. And Democrats would do well to take note.
