Republican candidate Chris Sprowls winds up his first-ever campaign with a wide fundraising lead over Democratic incumbent Rep. Carl “Z” Zimmerman, in Pinellas County’s House District 65.

From October 18-30, Sprowls added $34,300, with a substantial boost of $49,267 of in-kind support from the Republican Party of Florida for direct mail, polling and other campaign costs.

To date, the Tarpon Springs raised nearly $306,400, and spent a total of $287,084 in expenditures. Sprowls campaign is entering the final hours of the General Election with $20,312 on hand.

During the same period, Zimmerman raised $15,481, and spent $18,238, mostly on a “political tabloid” and a final TV spot. His campaign has now cost him $121,502, and has left him with a war chest of $19,805.

District 65 covers much of north Pinellas County, Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, Palm Harbor and East Lake.
