A ninth grade student at a central Florida high school is accused of making threatening comments about a teacher on Twitter.
Winter Park police say the 15-year-old girl was arrested May 28 on charges of “written threats to kill” and cyberstalking. Authorities say the girl posted six messages that included both threats and wishes that the teacher would kill herself.
The Orlando Sentinel reported Monday that the girl was apparently upset over a bad grade and wrote that she wanted to rip the teacher’s face off.
The police report says a dean at the school contacted an officer after seeing the messages.
The teacher didn’t initially see the messages. The report says she was “distraught” about the incident.
The girl was taken to a juvenile detention center.
