It just got more expensive to become a member of the Florida Bar, according to the News Service of Florida. The Florida Supreme Court on Thursday approved a 38 percent average increase in fees involved in applying for admission and re-admission to the Florida Bar. Citing the fact that fees have not increased since 1996, the high court approved an increase equal to to the average rate of inflation from 1996 to 2009. The increased fees, which take effect immediately, will be earmarked to offset Bar examiner costs and other expenses.
