Florida consumer confidence nears record low

Consumer confidence in Florida was slightly lower in October than it was in September, the University of Florida’s Bureau of Economic and Business Research reports via the News Service of Florida. The confidence index stood at 63 on the center’s 150 point scale. That’s just above this year’s low point of 61, and four points above a record low number set in June 2008. The low confidence reading appears to match two separate national readings that dropped to new lows this week.
