Talk about a big catch.
The Florida Gators grabbed wide receiver Tyree Cleveland Wednesday, flipping him from the University of Houston.
It helped the Gators salvage the day after the team lost athlete Aaron Robinson and defensive tackle Shaver Manuel flipped to Alabama and FSU. Florida ended the day ranked No. 13 in the country according to 247sports.com.
It hurt that the Gators’ class included only four of the state’s top 50 players.
“We’ve got a long ways to go, but we’ll continue to work in all those areas,” coach Jim McElwain said.
The Gators are also impressed with signee Antonneus Clayton.
The Gators signed nine four-star athletes. Twelve of the Gators’ signees are already in school.
