Florida's unemployment rate holds steady at 8.6%

Florida’s unemployment rate remained unchanged in June at 8.6 percent, 2.1 percentage points lower than a year ago, the Department of Economic Opportunity reported Friday. The new figures come days after state economists attributed most of the recent downturn to workers no longer seeking jobs.
