The Florida Medical Association PAC today endorsed State Rep. Amanda Murphy in her re-election bid for House District 36.
The New Port Richey Democrat faces the winner of the Aug. 26 Republican primary — either Chris Gregg of James Mathieu – for the seat covering much of Pasco County.
“Thank you to State Representative Amanda Murphy for her leadership and service through several of her health care committee assignments in the Florida House,” said FMA PAC President Ralph Nobo in a statement. “Her work on the Health & Human Services Committee, the Health Care Appropriations Subcommittee, and the Healthy Families Subcommittee has made Rep. Murphy a go-to advocate for our issues.”
“It is a great honor to be recognized and endorsed for re-election by the Florida Medical Association,” Murphy said. “Protecting Floridians by ensuring access to the many amazing health care providers we have here in this State has been and will continue to be a priority of mine in the legislature.”
As Florida’s leading pro-medical political group, representing more than 20,000 practicing physicians statewide, FMA PAC supports state candidates who will actively promote making Florida the best place to practice medicine. FMA PAC has raised more than $1 million through the end of 2013.
