The Florida Medical Association PAC (FMA PAC) — representing more than 20,000 practicing physicians statewide — is endorsing state Rep. Erik Fresen in his re-election bid for House District 114.
Fresen has served three terms in the House for the district covering part of Miami-Dade County and portions of Coral Gables, South Miami, Pinecrest and Palmetto Bay.
“We are proud to stand with Representative Fresen based on his past commitment to the medical profession and our state,” said FMA PAC President Ralph Nobo in a statement issued Monday. “Erik Fresen will be a strong advocate for the Florida Medical Association and we look forward to a continued partnership with him for years to come.”
Fresen thanked the FMA for the endorsement and noted how he has worked with the group to improve quality and access to health care.
“I look forward to continued work on this endeavor in collaboration with the most-important component of our health care system– our doctors,” he said.
Established in 1974, FMA PAC is the political arm of Florida medical professionals, who seek statewide pro-medicine candidates. Operated through voluntary contributions, the FMA chooses candidates who will promote making Florida the best place to practice medicine. As Florida’s leading medical PAC, FMA raised more than $1 million through the end of 2013.
