For second day in a row, Kathleen Ford attacked in the mailbox

For the second day in a row, a mailer attacking Kathleen Ford for being “unfit to lead” has shown up in the mailboxes of St. Petersburg voters. Paid for by The Council for Stronger Neighborhoods — an electioneering communications organization out of Orlando — the mailer turns the words of new-found Ford ally Goliath Davis against her.

“Don’t sit in a public forum and state things that aren’t true,” said Davis of Ford in April of 2000. Another place on the mailer reminds voters that Ford once falsely accused Davis of “tipping of targets during drug investigations.”

When it’s not using Davis words against Ford, the mailer cites several instances reported by the Tampa Bay Times when Ford used her “words recklessly” and “hurt the city” such as when she “made allegations against political opponents with no proof.”

The mailer asks voters to call Ford and “tell her we can’t afford her reckless leadership.”

No phone number is provided.

As Mark Puente noted today, The Council for Stronger Neighborhoods is registered at 70225 Augusta National Drive in Orlando. That’s the same address as the Florida Realtors.
