Foreclosure bill moves in the Senate

A controversial bill to speed up foreclosure proceedings on certain distressed property was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday over the objections of some homeowners and consumer advocates who said the bill may benefit a bankng industry that has been rocked with criticism over fraudulent documents and processes, reports the News Service of Florida. By a 5-2 vote, the panel approved SB 1890, the Senate companion to a pair of House measures (HB 213 and HB 1149) backers are need to get distressed property back on the market. Backers bill is a work in progress .
