It didn’t take long for former Pinellas County Commissioner Neil Brickfield to get back involved in the community, signing on as the new Executive Director of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Police Athletic League (PAL).
PAL is an independent non-profit sponsored by the Pinellas County’s Sheriff’s office. It’s mission is get children into positive activities, while keeping them out of trouble.
Brickfield was hired in July by PAL’s Board of Directors, which includes Sheriff Bob Gualtieri. “Neil brings energy and passion to everything he does, the board was unanimous in its vote to hire him and we are all excited that he is doing an excellent job.”
As for Brickfield, he is clearly excited about the opportunity, “I set a goal to find a way to continue to make a positive impact in our community, Lealman, a community with high unemployment, high foreclosure rates, high uninsured rates, high drop out rates and high arrest rates, with no public playing fields and no rec centers is all the challenge a person could ask for.”
Brickfield said that PAL is holding a free informational breakfast/ fundraiser on October 16, 7:30 a.m. at the Hilton Carillon. More information about this event can be had by emailing [email protected],
