Nina Hayden, former at-large member of the Pinellas County School Board, has announced her candidacy for the United States House of Representatives in Florida’s new 13th Congressional District.
Hayden, an attorney, expressed a desire to recapture the American Dream for Florida’s hardworking families.
“I am running for Congress because I believe America’s tomorrow can be even better than its yesterday, Hayden said. “The economy is improving and we’re putting folks back on the job, but there’s still a lot of work to do. As a school board member, I represented families that are still uncertain about the future. We will restore America’s prosperity when we create 21st century jobs. We can be confident in our future if we have a strong Democrat who will fight for the long-term economic security of working Americans.”
As a 12-year resident of Pinellas County, Nina Hayden says she has strong ties to the district, both as a youth mentor and as an elected official.
Hayden was first elected in a county-wide race for the Pinellas County School Board in 2008, and having served in leadership positions on numerous community boards, says she is eager to again to represent the residents of Pinellas county.
