Former House Speaker Tom Gustafson is set to run again for the House against Rep. Bill Hager, R-Boca Raton. Palm Beach Democratic Party Chairman Mark Alan Siegel said Gustafson was likely to replace Pamela Goodman, who dropped out of the race on Wednesday. “It’s looking as if it’s going in that direction. … He has such an outstanding record as speaker that we would be honored to have him as our candidate,” Siegel said. Other candidates who might have considered the race are deferring to Gustafson, Siegel said. Goodman stepped out of the raise because of “personal family health reasons with my husband,” according to The Palm Beach Post.
