Today, Patricia Levesque, Executive Director of the Foundation for Florida’s Future, released the following statement supporting the state lawmakers, parents, students and educators advocating for school choice and expanded access to quality education for Sunshine State students. Education advocates from across the state gathered for the School Choice Rally at the Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee.

“I thank the parents, teachers and education advocates who are supporting our charter and virtual schools and scholarship programs in Tallahassee today. Florida has made great strides to bring high quality education to each and every student. As we celebrate our successes, it is crucial that we continue building on the ideas, principles and reforms that triggered a decade of dramatic improvement for our students. To maintain our progress, we must equip parents with the information, tools and freedom to select the best school – public, private, charter or virtual – to meet their child’s individual needs, empowering every student to learn and succeed.”
