After Sunday night?announcement that Osama bin Laden is dead, Foursquare users have ?in a ceremonial gesture ?started checking in to a world in which the Al Qaeda founder no longer exists, reports Mashable.

A quick search on Foursquare in New York for ?sama?reveals such checkin locations as ?sama bin gonathon?and ?samapacolypse 2011.?

The gesture recalls, on a much larger scale, how users began checking in to a major New York City snow storm in 2010 with made-up venues such asSnowpocalypse 2010.

Are checkins of this nature occurring where you live? Are you checking in to them?
